This video shows highlights of the biggest bash ever held at the White Oak Laboratory. October 12, 1996 was a day of “proud memories” celebrating 50 years serving the United States Navy as a comprehensive research and development center making major contributions to our nation’s ability to win the cold war and hot conflicts throughout its 50 years’ service. The weather was “picture perfect” that day. I worked at the White Oak Laboratory under all three of its formal names: Naval Ordnance Laboratory (NOL), Naval Surface Weapons Center (NSWC), and Naval Surface Warfare Center.
