My cousin, Bernard A. "Bing" Downey, Jr., sings a beautiful special wedding rendition of "Mother At Your Feet Is Kneeling" at the wedding of my daughter Kelly to Chris on October 27, 2012. Bing has been singing this at family weddings for at least 44 years, including my own in 1978 and he "still has it." Bing doesn't recall where he got the words to this version or who wrote them. For those interested, they are: "Mother at Your feet we’re kneeling, on this happy wedding day. To Your love and care appealing, asking guidance on our way. Sanctify each joy and sorrow, bless each morn with Thy sweet smile. From Thy wisdom may we borrow, hear and bless us, Mother Mild. Dearest Mother, tell our Jesus how we love Him fond and true. And, oh Mary dearest Mother, tell Him we belong to You."
